With early experience in ballet and figure skating and a yoga practice of her own since 2000, Christine offers classes that incorporate mind-body exercise while focusing on proper alignment, strength, and breath. She blends moments of deep spiritual awakening with humor and strives to take her students to their emotional and physical "edge" each time they step on the mat. Christine has a focus on yoga therapy with additional training in a variety of special conditions. After using yoga to re-learn how to walk and balance following a traumatic brain injury and extensive neurosurgery, she is passionate about exploring yoga's healing components. Christine is additionally certified in children's yoga and developmental therapy. She is available for private sessions for people with special conditions or injuries.
Chris Eder | Yoga Instructor
Chris' yoga journey began in 1999 when a friend introduced him to yoga as an alternative to medications to help with ADHD and a pinched sciatica…he was hooked instantly. Chris teaches a variety of different yoga styles, including: Vinyasa, Hatha, Gentle, and Power. Additionally, Chris specializes in working with Veterans. This makes sense since he spent just shy of 24-years in the Air Force. Chris has an infectious energy and mixes traditional yoga music with mainstream music. His intelligent sequencing and motivation make for an inspiring yoga experience. Chris owns MalaforVets, a company that raises money for Veteran yoga programs like Mindful Yoga Therapy and the Give Back Yoga Foundation.
Stacee Johnson | Yoga & Prenatal Yoga Instructor
Stacee (StaCenteredYoga.com) has been practicing yoga since 1999. Through the Pranakriya Yoga School for the Healing Arts, she completed both her 200-hour certification and prenatal yoga training. Her classes are a balance of challenge and playfulness, with a focus on the connection of breath and movement. Stacee originally turned to yoga to relieve migraine symptoms and reduce stress but quickly became intrigued by its many benefits. She maintains that yoga brings a sense of serenity to her life, and she's passionate about helping students find that within themselves. Off her mat, Stacee enjoys traveling, indulging in spas, and cooking.
Jenna Jordan | Yoga Instructor
Jenna was introduced to yoga in high school to become more flexible for cheer-leading. As the years went on, she continued her practice to balance running, add calm and stability during her military service, and eventually to share her practice with other military members, friends, and family. Jenna teaches styles ranging from flow to restorative and therapeutic yoga and meditation; she is also a certified personal trainer who enjoys weaving teaching about potential medical and physiologic benefits into her yoga classes.
Tom Hyland Robertson DC | Yoga Instructor
Dr. Tom Hyland Robertson has been practicing yoga for nearly 15 years, and particularly enjoys the physical challenges of the asanas (poses). His extensive clinical study of anatomy and physiology lends a unique flavor to his classes, which often focus on progressively building strength and balance. Dr. Robertson has suffered from serious back injuries in the past, including degenerative and herniated lumbar discs, and he’s reversed the damage from these problems with regular yoga practice (chiropractic treatment and pilates, too). With his wife Laurie, he opened Whole Chiropractic in 2007 to bring effective, safe, alternative healing to the Odenton/Ft. Meade/West Anne Arundel communities.
Laurie Hyland Robertson MS in Yoga Therapy | Yoga & Pilates Instructor
Laurie first began practicing yoga simply to get an effective, low-impact workout that didn’t exacerbate her knee problems—her first experiences with yoga, in 2001, were fast-paced, fitness-oriented classes that suited her type-A personality. Laurie has since reformed her stressed-out ways, largely through training as a yoga teacher, and she now enjoys meditative classes as well as powerful yoga workouts. She believes strongly in the integrative healing power of both yoga and pilates for everyone, regardless of physical ability or previous experience. Laurie was a member of the first class of students in the Master of Science in Yoga Therapy program at Maryland University of Integrative Health.
Lauren Weinhold | Yoga & Pilates Instructor, Personal Trainer, Studio Manager
Lauren first began practicing yoga as a teenager with a BKS Iyengar book found at a yard sale; over the years, she continued her self-practice and class attendance. In 2009, Lauren completed her 200-hour teacher certification through the Yoga Center of Columbia. To deepen her understanding of biomechanics, physiology, and anatomy, she went on to receive certification as a personal trainer. After years as a research librarian, Lauren started her own business, Uplift Mind + Body, to share the joy of movement and meditation. In addition to several styles of yoga, Lauren teaches various fitness classes and trains all ages of clients in strength and cardiovascular conditioning.
Vanessa Young-Miller | Yoga Instructor
Vanessa brings heart-felt joy and a hint of playfulness to her teaching. She believes in the importance of not taking life too seriously and practicing the art of letting go every day, both on and off the mat. Having completed her 200-hour training with a variety of teachers from Liberation Yoga in Los Angeles with backgrounds in Vinyasa, Hatha, Anusara, Restorative, and Iyengar, she brings a creative mix of lightness, breath, and challenge to her classes (accompanied, if you're really lucky, by her live harp music!).
